Gan Preschool Frequently Asked Questions

We are licensed to care for children ages 2 to 5 years old.

We are open from 8:30 AM- 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Half day is 9:00 AM- 1:00 PM, full day is 8:30 AM-4:00 PM. During the summer, we are open from 9:00-4:00

Our ratio is 8:1 for preschoolers.

We communicate with parents and guardians through the Brightwheel app. We send messages, daily photo updates, and operate school check in and check out through the app. 

We follow the Petaluma City Schools schedule and offer an 8 week summer camp. We have several school closures throughout the year including summer break, Thanksgiving break, winter break, and some Jewish holidays. 

We have a strict safety protocol and all of our staff members are trained in emergency procedures. We have security cameras in the classrooms and a secure, gated entrance with code entry.

Students must bring their own lunch to school. As our preschool operates in a synagogue, we have a vegetarian-only food policy to respect our Kosher setting. As some children have a nut allergy, we are a nut free school.

We provide healthy snacks to the children daily including: bananas, apples, melons, oranges, pretzels, crackers, and cheerios.

Yes, our teachers undergo rigorous background checks and are certified in CPR and first aid. We also practice the teaching pyramid in creating a positive environment.
